About Us
Changing Faces. Changing Lives.
Cape Craniofacial Foundation is a Public Charitable Trust established in 2008 to support children and adults living with cleft lip, cleft palate, facial deformities and complex craniofacial conditions. The Foundation was created to ensure that patients from financially disadvantaged families can access specialised surgical treatment, dental care, rehabilitation and emotional support.
Many craniofacial conditions affect far more than appearance. They can interfere with breathing, eating, speech, vision, hearing, facial growth and social confidence. For families already facing financial hardship, the cost of repeated investigations, surgery, hospitalisation and long-term follow-up can make treatment impossible.
Our purpose is to help bridge that gap.
Through capecraniofacial.com, we connect verified patients with individuals who wish to support life-changing treatment. Every campaign is created around a genuine medical need, a defined treatment plan and a clear fundraising goal.
Our Story
Cape Craniofacial Foundation began with a simple belief: no patient should be denied essential facial surgery because their family cannot afford treatment.
Over the years, the Foundation has supported patients affected by cleft conditions, congenital facial differences, acquired deformities, severe facial asymmetry and other complex head-and-neck conditions. Some patients require a single operation, while others need treatment over several years as they grow.
The Foundation’s work includes free or subsidised craniofacial surgery, dental and orthodontic treatment, reconstructive procedures, rehabilitation, education and psychological support for patients and their families.
Today, our crowdfunding platform allows well-wishers from India and around the world to become part of these treatment journeys.
Our Mission
To provide compassionate, high-quality and comprehensive care for patients with craniofacial conditions, especially those who are unable to afford treatment.
We aim to support:
-
- Medical and surgical treatment
-
- Dental and orthodontic care
-
- Speech and functional rehabilitation
-
- Psychological and emotional support
-
- Patient education and social awareness
-
- Long-term follow-up and reconstructive care
Our Vision
To create a future in which every child and adult with a craniofacial condition can receive appropriate treatment regardless of financial, social or religious background.
We envision a system where specialised care, public generosity and medical expertise come together to restore function, dignity and confidence.
What We Do
Patient Fundraising
We create verified crowdfunding campaigns for patients who cannot afford the full cost of surgery and related medical treatment.
Craniofacial Surgery
We support treatment for cleft lip and palate, jaw deformities, facial asymmetry, congenital craniofacial conditions, facial tumours, trauma-related deformities and reconstructive needs.
Long-Term Care
Treatment may involve investigations, surgery, orthodontics, speech therapy, medicines, rehabilitation and follow-up over several months or years.
Completed Surgery Stories
We document completed treatments so donors can understand how their contributions have helped transform patients’ lives.
Our Medical Care Team
Patients supported through the Foundation are evaluated and treated by experienced craniofacial, maxillofacial, reconstructive, dental, orthodontic and anaesthetic teams.
The clinical treatment is coordinated through Richardson’s Face Hospital, under the guidance of Dr. Sunil Richardson and the treating medical team.
Each patient’s treatment plan is based on their individual diagnosis, functional needs, surgical requirements and overall health.
How Our Campaigns Work
1. Medical evaluation
The patient is examined and the diagnosis, treatment plan and estimated expenses are reviewed.
2. Campaign verification
Medical information, family circumstances and financial need are checked before a campaign is published.
3. Fundraising
Donors can contribute toward surgery, hospitalisation, implants, medicines, investigations, orthodontics, rehabilitation and follow-up care.
4. Treatment and updates
Once the required arrangements are completed, the patient receives treatment. Campaign updates may be shared during recovery, subject to the patient’s consent.
5. Completion
After treatment, the campaign is moved to the Completed Surgeries section with an outcome update.
Transparency and Accountability
We understand that trust is essential when people contribute toward medical care.
Our goal is to maintain transparency by providing:
-
- Verified patient campaigns
-
- Clearly stated fundraising goals
-
- Treatment descriptions and medical requirements
-
- Progress updates where available
-
- Completed surgery outcomes
-
- Foundation registration and statutory information
-
- Donation acknowledgement and financial records
Donations received by the Foundation are intended to support its charitable objectives and patient-care activities. The Trust Deed states that the Foundation’s funds and income are to be used toward its charitable purposes and not distributed as profit to trustees or office-bearers.
Why Your Support Matters
For a patient living with a facial difference, surgery can mean much more than a change in appearance.
It can mean:
-
- Breathing more comfortably
-
- Eating and speaking more clearly
-
- Returning to school or employment
-
- Being accepted within the community
-
- Rebuilding confidence
-
- Living independently and with dignity
Every contribution, regardless of size, helps move a patient closer to treatment.
Be a part of changing a face and transforming a life.
